The Midi sonde is an active solution for locating empty non-metallic pipes. When inserted into PVC, plastic or other pipes, it emits a signal at a selected frequency of 8 kHz or 33 kHz. The sonde can be located from the surface using either the Advanced or Standard version of the Leica Ultra locator. It is suitable for pipes at depths of up to 5 metres. Its 38 mm diameter is well suited to narrow sewer and drainage pipes.
