The Maxi sonde is an active solution for locating empty non-metallic pipes. It is particularly effective for locating large pipes and ducts with diameters greater than 55 mm. When inserted into PVC, plastic or other pipes, it emits a signal at a selected frequency of 8 kHz or 33 kHz. The sonde can be located from the surface using either the Advanced or Standard version of the Ultra locator. It is used for pipes at depths of 12 metres below ground level. It is invaluable for deep targets and specialist surveys of underground infrastructure.
