The Leica DA175 signal transmitter from the DA series applies a signal to underground conductors, cables or metal pipelines that do not emit their own signal. The Leica DD175 cable locator from the DD series can then be used to detect the signal from the Leica DA175 transmitter.
DA series signal transmitters, including the DA175, are compact, durable and easy to use. They are designed to work with DD series cable locators, including the DD175, making it easier and more accurate to detect, locate and trace utility networks such as power and telecommunications cables, water pipes and metal gas pipelines.
Improved utility detection
These intelligent signal transmitters:
- They can be used to apply a signal to a utility and precisely determine its position and depth
- They allow depth estimation when used with a cable locator that supports this function
- It allows non-conductive utilities to be located by applying a signal to a trace wire installed alongside PE pipes, such as gas pipes. The signal can then be traced using any Leica DD cable locator. Using a Leica DA175 signal transmitter can help locate approximately 50% more underground cables and pipes than using a DD175 locator alone.
- Use a range of accessories to locate even more utilities
